The Wairarapa Wines Harvest Festival is held at the beautiful, sheltered riverside setting locally known as ‘The Cliffs’ on the banks of the Ruamahunga River at the end of Dakins Road in rural Wairarapa. Its remoteness and vineyard setting is part of its appeal while still being close to public transport.
Just 10 minutes from both Masterton and Carterton, the site is easily accessible to locals and visitors to the district alike. Tranzit Coachlines will be running a regional Shuttle Service to and from the festival site at the beginning and end of the day with an additional service meeting the scheduled Wellington train at the Carterton Railway Station (Gold Coin Fare, pre booked passengers get preference). See below for booking details.
A total of 24 exhibitors, representing 16 of the Wairarapa’s finest wineries and 8 high profile local restaurants and food producers, will showcase their wares at this, Wairarapa’s newest wine and food event. Exhibitors will operate from marquees set amongst the dozens of impressive 1000 year old native trees which are a feature of the festival site.
While the wineries will serve some of their finest products, restaurants will be encouraged this year to focus on presenting some of the great local food and produce that the Wairarapa has to offer illustrating that the Harvest Festival truly does celebrate the finest in local wine and food.
Once again there will be an emphasis on entertainment throughout the day featuring a variety of live music, art exhibitions and static displays ensuring that all tastes are catered for.
